Making of the Orchid Necklace

On the previous post, we talked about the unique Orchid Necklace made by RISIS.
This time, we will let you know more about the making of this necklace.

Out of so many flower why choose orchid?
Since it's a gift from Singapore to the world, no flowers in Singapore grow greater abundance than orchids.
This elegant flower is a symbol of diversity and richness that Singapore has to offer.

RISIS has developed a unique process to preserve fresh orchids in its full glory in 24 carat gold or rhodium.

Here are the steps on making of RISIS Orchid
Step 1: Flower Selection
The finest orchids are carefully chosen for the ideal size and shape from a selection of exotic and unique varieties.

Step 2: Copper Coating
To retain their natural texture and shape, the orchids are preserved with a delicate coat of copper.

Step 3: Gold Plating
The copper-coated orchids are plated with nickel to strengthen the delicate blooms. They are then encapsulated in pure 24 carat gold.

For rhodium/gold bicolour series, orchids are encased in gold then overlaid with rhodium, a precious metal in platium family that gives its lustrous silvery finish.

Final Step: Finishing and Inspection
The plated orchids are hand-finished and crafted into stylish personal accessories, then carefully inspected before being packed in exquisite RISIS gift boxes.
